About Indore Metro System: An Overview
Though it is under construction, Indore Metro is expected to have 11 corridors or lines covering a distance of 124 kilometres. The project is estimated at INR 12,000 CR, and the stations will be on the ground, elevated, and underground. So far, the Cabinet of the Central Government sanctioned Phase-I; Line 3 is set to be 33 kilometres long.

Indore Metro Route and Lines
DMRC has planned for six corridors for Indore Metro and the main ones are:
- Super Corridor MR to Ring Road
- Annapurna to Sukhliya
- Niranjanpur to Bhawarkuwa
Rohit Associates Cities and Rails Private Limited, supervised by architect Rohit Gupta, has planned a network of around 107 km. The government of MP has accepted the inception of a detailed project for the MRTS and it is likely to be completed by 2024.
Phase 1 of the Yellow Line has 29 stations, and it is 33.53 km long. The line connects Palasia- Railway Station- Rajwada- Airport- Bhawarsala via 30 stations. The line also has six underground stations and the remaining 23 stations will be above ground.

Current Status of Indore Metro Network

- 2021: Construction of the elevated viaduct faced delays due to disputes between contractors. Tenders for the construction of several elevated metro stations and viaducts were released. Soil testing for the underground metro began.
- 2021: The foundation stone for the construction of the 11 km viaduct of Phase I ring-line was laid. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) was awarded the contracts.
- 2023: A successful trial run of the metro line was conducted, indicating significant progress towards project completion.
- 2024: The final pre-cast segments were completed, bringing the project closer to completion.
